I was born and raised in Oxford, Alabama. This will be my seventh year in the Haralson County School System. I served as an assistant principal at Haralson County Middle School for four years before becoming the principal at Buchanan Elementary School. Before coming to Georgia as an administrator, I taught math in grades seven through twelve in Calhoun County, Alabama. I also served in the United States Army for two years before attending college. I graduated cum laude from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Secondary Education-mathematics in 2001. In 2006 I earned my Master’s of Science degree in Educational Leadership from JSU. I added my Educational Specialist Degree from Jacksonville State in 2007, also in Educational Leadership. I am currently attending The University of Alabama working toward my Educational Doctorate in Educational Administration.
Since starting in the Haralson County School System, I have worked with Response to Intervention, Summer Remediation, The Academic After-School Program, Curriculum Development, Continuous School Improvement, Georgia Class Keys, Georgia Leader Keys,Thinking Maps, Professional Learning, and many other school improvement initiatives.
I currently reside in Tallapoosa, Georgia with my two boys, Jakeb and Chance. I enjoy running, playing tennis, lifting weights, reading and working with my boys in their academic and athletic endeavors.
